How is it possible to create a street illumination without the necessity to be connected to the grid?

Christmas is always related to light. How all the light is produced? Why do we have to keep public and private lights burning all the night long? Can we design a form of illumination that is totally ecological? Is it possible to invent a Km 0 light?

The shape of the scenography is an almost infinite barrel vault the clearly refers to the classical archetypes that are scattered all around the city, and many ceiling decoration of the old times.

Via del Corso in Rome has been covered with 35,000 globes made out of luminescent, fully recycled, plastic. These elements are capable of absorbing the natural light in the daytime and release it during the night.

Due to the natural characteristic of the phenomenon of luminescent the amount of light scattered in the night is inversely proportional to the functional hours. This means that the light will be stronger just after sunset and it will slowly diminish through the night.

A new Urban Landscape has just been created.
